October 2025 Climate Summary
Statewide, October temperatures were -1.1°F below normal and precipitation totals were above normal. Temperatures were 2-4°F below normal across the Cascades and 1-3°F below normal across much of eastern Washington and the Olympic Mountains. Temperatures were near normal across the western Washington lowlands including departures of +0.1°F in Olympia, -0.5°F at SeaTac, and -0.5°F in Vancouver, Washington. Temperatures were also near normal in Spokane (+0.1°F), Wenatchee (+0.6°F), Pullman (-0.3°F), and Pasco/Tri Cities (-0.6°F).
Precipitation was above normal statewide with the wettest areas of the state relative to normals on the eastern slopes of the Cascades and in northcentral Washington centered near Lincoln and Spokane counties. Precipitation departures in these areas approached 200% of normal in some spots including 171% of normal in Ephrata and 164% of normal in Spokane. This additional rainfall was particularly beneficial for areas on the east slopes of the Cascades, which experienced very dry and warm summer conditions and associated water supply issues.
